Perth Kilt Run
- This year, with the event at Champion Lakes Regatta Centre, both the 2.5km Classic and 5km Warrior course options are on flat, fully paved surfaces that serve as existing pedestrian pathways.
- We request non-racing wheelchairs start at the back of the pack.
- A filmed walkthrough of both course routes will be available on the City’s YouTube channel here.
- Download a digital copy of the route map.
- Perth Kilt Run onsite registration and bib pick up are on the first floor of the main Champion Lakes Regatta Centre building. Note lift access is available.

Shuttle Bus Service
- A free shuttle bus service is being provided, connecting parking lots to the event site.
- The shuttle bus will stop at the main parking lots to the north-west of the event site (access via Champion Drive), near the corner of Lake View Terrace and Gertrude Avenue, at the ACROD parking near Henley Drive, and on the main island.
- Shuttle buses can take patrons in wheelchairs and service dogs, but unfortunately are unable to take any other pets.
- A parking and bus map (PDF) is available here.
Parking and Drop Off
- Temporary additional ACROD parking will be in place off Henley Drive.
- The distance from ACROD parking to the first bus stop is 600m (note this is flat and paved).
- Private buses can be accommodated if advance notice is provided – please email [email protected] should you require this service.
- Please note for the safety of event patrons unfortunately no private vehicles can access the island during the event.
- For private vehicles dropping someone off, we would recommend the corner of Lake View Terrace and Gertrude Avenue. From here it is approximately 180m to the event site. Note this is the closest private vehicle drop off point to the event.
- There is a designated rideshare drop off location off Henley Drive.
- Traffic controls will be in place – please plan ahead and download the parking and road access map (PDF) here.
Public Transport
- Unfortunately, there are no public transport bus stops in the immediate area.
- If coming from the city, railway replacement buses drop patrons off at Albany Highway. The nearest bus stop is approximately 1.3km or a 17 minute walk from the event site.
- We recommend using the Transperth JourneyPlanner before you travel.
Toilets
- Ambulant toilets are available at all toilet locations throughout the event space. Please refer to the Armadale Highland Gathering event map (PDF) for further information.
- The Tavern’s licenced area includes a fully accessible toilet (permanent facility).
- A fully accessible toilet is open to all event patrons. This is a permanent facility located on the ground floor of the the building closest to the main stage and first aid point. Please refer to the public map here.
Surfaces and Area Access
- Activities are placed on or adjacent to paved surfaces where possible.
- Note there is a lot of gravel and grass surfaces on this event site. In the case of severe weather in the lead up to the event, note that gravel surfaces can become uneven and fill with puddles.
- The Tavern’s licenced area includes the first floor of the main Champion Lakes Regatta Centre building. Note lift access is available.
- Stallholders, Heavy Events, Pipe Bands WA and the Medieval Arena will have viewing areas on or adjacent to paved areas.
- Please note that the Meet and Greet Scottish Dogs, Highland Dancing Stage, some children’s activities and the Quiet Zone are adjacent to gravel areas.
Quiet Zone
- A Quiet Zone will be available for the duration of the event, to provide a space for people to take relief from the crowds.
- Some free sensory activities will be available in this space.
- This area will be managed by the Armadale Rotary Club as an accessible service.
- The Quiet Zone is noted on the event map (PDF).
Sensory Zones
- For those that would prefer to avoid the crowds altogether, we would suggest attending the first two hours or the last two hours of the day as the middle of the day is the busiest.
- A Sensory Map (PDF) is available here.
